History of Graphology:

In 1875, Jean Hyppolyte Michon, A French Abbot coined the phrase "Graphology", from the Greek: "Graph" which means, 'To write' and the word "Logos" meaning 'doctrine' or 'theory'.

This term may be relatively recent, but the art and science dates back hundreds of years, originating in Southern India over 4,000 years ago!
